Rayzon Solar Cell Plant to Start December Operations in Gujarat – urbanacres.in

Rayzon Solar will commission its 5.1 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing plant in December 2026, with initial deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2027, the Surat-based company said in a press release issued on the sidelines of the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit 2026.
The facility marks Rayzon Solar’s entry into solar cell manufacturing and expands its operations beyond modules. The company currently has an installed solar module manufacturing capacity of 11.3 GW.
The planned cell plant is part of Rayzon Solar’s effort to build a more integrated domestic manufacturing chain. The company said the expansion would strengthen backward integration and reduce dependence on imported inputs used in solar manufacturing.
Rayzon Solar is also planning a 5.1 GW ingot casting and wafer slicing facility, targeted for development by 2028. The company is engaging with multiple States to assess incentives and finalise a location for the proposed investment. No location for that facility has been announced.
The company said it would proceed with its manufacturing expansion after shifting the funding plan for the TOPCon project from IPO proceeds to debt financing. The change was made amid market volatility, according to the company.
Rayzon Solar has also completed an aluminium extrusion and anodising unit with a capacity of 19,800 tonnes per annum. The facility will manufacture frames for solar modules, adding another component to the company’s manufacturing operations.
The company’s next proposed manufacturing stage is the ingot casting and wafer slicing facility. Co-founder Chirag Nakrani said the next phase of expansion would focus on that project, while chief executive Amit Barve said the company expected to bring high-performance modules to market through its tie-up with Caelux Corporation, a United States company with operations in India.
Caelux specialises in modules whose glass is coated with perovskites. According to Rayzon Solar, the coating enables the modules to capture more wavelengths of sunlight and increase electricity generation. The company is also researching tandem-junction technology and nano-coatings for next-generation solar modules, with targeted launches by 2028.
Rayzon Solar said its research and development programme had resulted in three patent filings over the past year. The company was founded in 2017 by Nakrani and Hardik Kothiya.
The December commissioning and the planned first-quarter deliveries will be the next milestones for the company’s manufacturing expansion. The proposed ingot and wafer facility remains at the location-selection and incentives-assessment stage.
