RadianX Raises $9 Million In Venture And Project Financing To Scale Perovskite Solar Module Production – Pulse 2.0

The seed round included participation from One Small Planet, Sahsen Ventures, Avila VC, California Innovation Fund, quantumEDGE, Riceberg Ventures, and Alumni Ventures.
RadianX, formerly known as California Perovskite Technology, is developing ultra-thin solar modules designed to generate electricity from indoor, outdoor, and diffuse light sources.
Its technology targets applications including sensors, wearable electronics, connected devices, and Physical AI systems, where dependable energy generation could reduce reliance on conventional batteries.
Unlike traditional silicon-based solar technology, perovskite photovoltaic materials can generate useful amounts of electricity under low-light conditions, including environments where conventional solar cells become less effective.
RadianX’s modules are as thin as 0.7 millimeters and can be manufactured in custom dimensions and output voltages.
The company designs its products for direct integration into existing device surfaces, enabling manufacturers to incorporate energy generation without substantially changing product designs.
Its modules can deliver up to 250 watts per square meter, according to the company.
The financing will support RadianX’s transition from certified product development into commercial-scale manufacturing and customer deployment.
Through its partnership with PUT, RadianX plans to establish an initial automated production line with 6 megawatts of manufacturing capacity.
PUT, a publicly listed precision components manufacturer, will fund a dedicated production line intended to support the commercialization of RadianX’s photovoltaic modules.
A significant challenge facing perovskite solar technology has been translating laboratory efficiency results into durable, commercially manufactured products.
Historically, perovskite devices have faced limitations involving material degradation, performance consistency at larger sizes, and concerns about lead content.
RadianX reports that its modules have received TÜV certification across all three categories of IEC TS 63163, a specification covering photovoltaic modules incorporated into consumer products.
The certifications include Category 3, which addresses products exposed to demanding outdoor conditions.
The company has also reported certified efficiency measurements at cell, panel, and module scales, including 22.33% efficiency on a module measuring 1.2 by 0.6 meters.
RadianX described that result as a world record for the format at the time it was achieved.
The modules have additionally passed lead-release testing under the European Union’s REACH regulation and comply with RoHS requirements.
Following the financing, RadianX appointed Gary Chen, the former CEO of California solar manufacturer Sunspark, as Vice President of Manufacturing and Product.
The company is participating in the 2026 Amazon Devices Climate Tech Accelerator, operated by Plug and Play.
RadianX is also collaborating with NGK Corporation to combine its photovoltaic modules with NGK’s EnerCera batteries for wireless asset-tracking applications.
These activities support the company’s strategy of integrating energy-harvesting capabilities into connected devices while developing manufacturing infrastructure that can be replicated internationally.
KEY QUOTES:
“Most connected devices still depend on a battery that someone has to replace. Our job is to turn that light those devices already receive into power, to drive increased uptime and even reduce or eliminate the battery.”
Josh Douglas, Co-Founder And Chief Operating Officer Of RadianX
“Perovskite is a nanomaterial that doesn’t depend on the silicon supply chain. It is carbon-light, needs no rare materials, and can be manufactured from start to finish in a single facility, which means it can be made almost anywhere. By building our first automated 6MW production line, we are creating a blueprint we can replicate at larger scale anywhere in the world.”
Vivian Qu, Co-Founder And Chief Executive Officer Of RadianX
“RadianX has demonstrated world-leading performance and stability metrics across all important categories, and has validated that performance in customer hands. This positions the technology as a key unlock for perovskite applications across all markets. PUT is proud to partner with RadianX, bringing our experience in delivering at scale together with their unique technology to scale capacity and meet RadianX’s immediate customer demand.”
Tiger Yang, CEO Of Pacific Union Technology Precision Manufacturing
“Perovskites have been one of the hardest problems in solar, because lab records have rarely held up as stable, manufacturable products. We invested in RadianX because we have conviction in both the technology and the team, which already has certified modules in customers’ hands.”
Po Bronson, General Partner At SOSV And Managing Director At SOSV SF
