[SMM PV Flash] Beijing Energy Group: Secures 4GW wind and solar project quotas for the Jilin Power-to-Beijing supporting initiative! – Shanghai Metals Market

On November 3, the Jilin Provincial Energy Administration issued the Notice on Assigning Construction Indicators for New Energy Supporting Projects of the Northeast Songliao Clean Energy Base Power Transmission to North China Project, confirming that Beijing Energy Group has obtained 4 million kW of new energy construction indicators.
The "Jilin Power to Beijing" project relies on a ±800 kV DC ultra-high-voltage transmission corridor, with a total line length exceeding 1,000 kilometers, passing through Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, and Beijing. It is expected to be fully completed and operational by 2029, enabling clean green electricity from Jilin and Heilongjiang to be supplied directly to Beijing.
The project plans 3.35 million kW of wind power projects and 650,000 kW of PV projects, including: 2.35 million kW of wind power projects and 650,000 kW of PV power generation projects in Baicheng, and a 1 million kW PV power generation project in Songyuan, creating a development pattern featuring wind-solar complementarity and multi-energy coordination. The project also coordinates the planning and construction of supporting works such as power grid integration, supporting energy storage, and transmission corridors, ensuring efficient aggregation and safe, stable delivery of clean energy.
