Türkiye’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has announced the results of the YEKA GES-2026 solar tender, awarding a total of 785 MW of capacity across 11 projects.
The tender attracted 44 applications from 19 companies, with the winning bidders committing approximately €37.9 million in contribution payments, including value-added tax.
Under the tender framework, successful developers will be allowed to sell electricity on the open market for the first 60 months of operation. This will be followed by a 20-year electricity purchase period at a fixed tariff of €0.0325 ($0.037)/kWh.
The tender forms part of Türkiye’s Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA) program, which aims to accelerate renewable energy deployment and attract private investment in the country’s electricity sector.
The tender results follow the launch of Türkiye’s YEKA GES-2026 procurement round in July. The government initially planned to allocate 900 MW across 14 solar projects, alongside 1.5 GW of wind capacity. The solar projects were planned across nine provinces, with individual capacities ranging from 25 MW to 230 MW.
In February 2025, Türkiye awarded 800 MW of solar capacity across six projects under the YEKA GES-2024 tender. The procurement attracted 146 applications from 67 companies, with winning projects ranging from 40 MW to 385 MW and a final electricity price of $0.0325/kWh.
A subsequent solar tender held in November 2025 attracted 77 applications from 38 companies for 650 MW of capacity across eight projects. The procurement included the country’s first floating solar project, a 35 MW installation planned at the Demirköprü hydropower reservoir in Manisa province.
Türkiye installed approximately 4.7 GW of solar capacity in 2025, bringing cumulative installations to 24.8 GW by year-end, according to transmission system operator TEİAŞ. The country is targeting 120 GW of combined solar and wind capacity by 2035, supported by recurring renewable energy tenders and continued investment in the electricity sector.
