The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced that it will help Albania prepare a new auction for 300 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The EBRD will assess network capacity, auction eligibility, custody regulations and market readiness for Contracts for Difference (CfDs).
The bank will also assist with auction documentation, project selection and financial close.
Albania has previously completed four EBRD-supported renewable energy auctions, securing over 800 MW.
