My presentation in Coimbatore covered the following points below amongst others

- Explaining the requirements of the Solar energy policy and the roadmap to achieve the objectives
- Assessing the advantages of solar energy and the various SPV technologies available in the market to harness the energy
- The implications of the solar purchase obligation mandate and the action plan to achieve SPO
- Defining the categories that have to fulfill the SPO and the mechanisms available to comply with the requirements
The harsh reality is that organization’s in the state suffer from consistent load shedding (except during some wind months) as well as short term thinking which has reduced the overall impact of the state within the country. This has resulted in muted economic growth and a bankrupt discom.
The only way out is to shed conventional thinking and create a win win situation with developers, state and utilities. Offering Solar Developers PPAs of Rs. 7.5+ will line up power investments for the state and usher in prosperity while returning fleeing trade opportunities.
