CHEBOYGAN — Sherry Long and her husband, Joseph, are among several plaintiffs who filed a lawsuit in September seeking to stop a solar energy project on 1,700 acres in Cheboygan County’s Grant Township.
Spurred in part by state laws that require utilities to source 50% of their electricity from renewable energy by 2030 and then increase it to 60% by 2035, EDP Renewables is developing the Northern Waters Solar Park.
