MA legislation coming that pushes switch to renewable energy | letter – MetroWest Daily News

To the Editor:
Recently, the select boards of Sherborn and Holliston wrote letters to our representatives in the Massachusetts Legislature expressing their support for solar energy. We applaud these two select boards.
Solar energy is now cheaper than fossil fuels, but under our present laws, cities and towns cannot fully benefit from this affordability advantage. Legislation that would enable cities and towns to add solar panels to their schools, municipal buildings and parking lot canopies and to transfer their solar credits to residents is needed. Towns could sell their surplus energy to residents at a fraction of the cost people now pay.
