Jokes and jitters: Watch as Zeeland residents raise concerns over solar farm – MLive.com

ZEELAND, MI — Nearly every hand shot up from the throng prompted by a question.
“Who here is opposed to the solar farm project taking up thousands of acres of land in our township?” a resident asked.
A 1,100-acre solar farm met great opposition on Tuesday, Dec. 9 as a large crowd packed the lower level of the Zeeland Township hall. One resident after another raised concerns about the $300 million project.
Most of the approximately 200 people at the planning commission meeting were in opposition to the solar project planned by Germany-based energy company RWE.
