Two hurt as plane crashes on Ky. solar farm, knocking out downtown power – KFVS12

CYNTHIANA, Ky. (WKYT) — Two people were hurt after a small plane crashed Thursday afternoon in Harrison County.
According to emergency officials, the plane went down on a solar farm off Highway 36, just past the hospital outside Cynthiana.
Officials say both the pilot and a passenger were onboard. The pilot was treated for minor injuries, while the passenger was airlifted to UK Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash took down a transmission line, cutting power to much of downtown Cynthiana. Despite the outage, emergency crews were able to respond quickly and maintain communications.
Power was expected to be restored by midnight, affecting mainly Eals Lane and McKee Lane in Harrison County.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, which officials say will likely continue into Friday.
This is a developing story.
