Fayette will need another planning commissioner for solar proposal – hillsdale.net

JONESVILLE — Scores of residents again packed the auditorium at Jonesville High School on Jan. 19, urging the Fayette Township Planning Commission to oppose a proposed 1,500‑acre solar farm planned on farmland west and south of the city of Jonesville.
The proposal, Heartwood Solar II, comes from Ranger Power and represents a 140-megawatt expansion of the existing Heartwood Solar. Together, the projects reportedly total more than $300 million in planned investment in Hillsdale County — and are expected to generate more than $35 million in tax revenue over their operational lifetimes, according to the company.
