Pekat Group Berhad’s unit has secured a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement for the development of a 25MWac solar photovoltaic facility integrated with a 40MWh battery energy storage system in Pahang.
The PPA was signed between its subsidiary Pentas RE and an industrial energy off-taker, who engaged in the heavy industrial manufacturing and sale of industrial products, as well as the provision of transportation services. The Purchaser’s name is withheld due to confidentiality obligations.

Under the PPA, Pentas RE will undertake the design, construction, ownership, operation and maintenance of the integrated solar PV and BESS facility for 21 years from the targeted Commercial Operation Date in October 2026, subject to the satisfaction of conditions precedent and timely completion of construction.
The estimated project value of the PPA, based on the projected revenue to be generated over the Project Period, is approximately RM239 million.
The 40MWh BESS is designed to support energy optimisation by managing peak demand requirements through the discharge of stored energy during high-demand periods. In tandem, the onsite solar PV facility will generate clean, renewable energy and contribute towards emissions reduction.
