Investment manager Triple Point has acquired a 28MW solar PV project in Essex from a joint venture between London-based renewable energy platform IG Renewables and developer Anglo Renewables.
The project secured full planning approval in February 2025, spans around 26 hectares and includes environmental enhancements aimed at delivering biodiversity net gains. A £25,000 community benefit fund will also be established to support local projects, the firm said.
Jonathan Hick, head of energy transition at Triple Point, “Securing ready-to-build sites, such as Toot Hill, with near term connection dates, located close to centres of high energy demand, is part of our strategy to accelerate the delivery of renewable energy infrastructure.”
“The development when complete will deliver an overall Biodiversity Net Gain in excess of 60%, a testament to the calibre of IGR and Anglo’s teams. This acquisition provides a strong foundation for the construction of a high-quality operational asset and supports our broader ambition to invest in sustainable energy projects across the UK.”

Founded in 2004, Triple Point is an investment manager focused on productive capital, with £2.5 billion in assets under management as of June 2025. In April 2025, Triple Point agreed a £15 million debt facility with battery energy storage system (BESS) developer Noriker Power.
The funding marked the start of a new partnership between the two UK BESS players and was used to support Noriker Power’s advanced development pipeline, including the procurement of key equipment for several ready-to-build assets in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
