Man accused of stealing copper wires from solar panels in Bladen County – WECT

BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into copper wire thefts from a solar farm in Bladen County.
Nicholas Garland Goodman, 34, of Pembroke, was arrested after the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received an anonymous call reporting a suspicious truck.
“The truck was stuck in a field in front of a solar farm that has recently reported copper wire theft,” BCSO said.
When deputies arrived, they found a hole had been cut in the fence, and copper wire had been cut from solar panels.
One witness told deputies they had seen the truck a few days earlier, and a nearby witness identified the truck and its tag numbers.
BCSO said deputies investigated and identified Goodman as a suspect.
“Goodman has several prior charges for stealing copper wire,” BCSO said.
Goodman was arrested in Robeson County and is being held on no bond.
