Plan to switch off home solar panels meets state resistance – AFR

The Queensland government is resisting giving network operators more powers to switch off household rooftop solar panels during grid emergencies, which the market operator insists are urgently needed to avoid blackouts.
The Australian Energy Market Operator, which runs the national electricity system, says the changes are needed to manage the risks from the flood of power from rooftop solar that can surge into the grid during days when the sun is shining but energy use is low.
