JinkoSolar powers Tanzania’s 50MW solar PV project to full grid connection – Green Building Africa

As a significant clean energy project in East Africa, the project utilised JinkoSolar’s high-efficiency PV modules throughout its construction. Facing challenges such as complex local climatic conditions, tight logistics schedules, and stringent grid access requirements in Tanzania, the JinkoSolar team worked closely with the general contractor, PowerChina, to ensure the timely supply of core equipment and technical support. This collaboration laid a solid foundation for the project’s ultimate success in achieving full-capacity grid connection in a single attempt.
JinkoSolar’s high-efficiency modules guarantee excellent power generation performance under local environmental conditions. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 72,000 MWh of electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 57,000 tons per year. This will effectively alleviate the local pressure on electricity supply and demand, contributing to Tanzania’s green energy transition.
The successful grid connection of this project demonstrates JinkoSolar’s technological strength as a globally leading manufacturer of PV modules and sets a new benchmark for the company’s further promotion of efficient clean energy solutions in the African market.
