The Abu Dhabi-based intergovernmental renewable energy agency IRENA said Tunisia added 120 MW of renewable energy capacity in 2025, lifting total installed renewable energy capacity to 1,206 MW. The agency also said PV represented 100% of the country’s new renewable capacity additions during the year. Tunisia’s installed PV capacity moved up from 775 MW to 895 MW, making it the only renewable segment to post growth. By comparison, onshore wind capacity remained at 245 MW in 2025, while hydropower capacity stayed at 66 MW during the same period. IRENA further said Tunisia’s renewable energy share increased from 8.2% of installed capacity in 2024 to 16.6% in 2025. These statistics were published in its Renewable Capacity Statistics 2026 report.
