The Westmoreland County Airport Authority board unanimously voted to move forward with planning for a solar project at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport on Tuesday.
Authority members have seen several iterations of a solar farm proposal by energy service provider Veregy, with the latest being a ground-mounted array at the Unity Township airport to cover 95% of the airport’s energy consumption with about 1.6 million kilowatt-hours generated a year.
