NTPC Group Expands Capacity to 89,615 MW After 87.5 MW Solar COD Addition in Rajasthan – PSU Connect

New Delhi, April 17, 2026: NTPC Limited has announced a fresh milestone in its renewable energy expansion, following the declaration of Commercial Operation Date (COD) for a 87.50 MW solar capacity out of a total 150 MW solar project in Rajasthan.
The disclosure was made to stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, through filings to both the BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited.
 
The new capacity has been commissioned by NTPC Green Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC, as part of its ongoing renewable energy expansion strategy. The solar project is located in Rajasthan and contributes significantly to the group’s clean energy portfolio.
With this addition, the total installed capacity of NTPC Group has increased to 89,615 MW, while its commercial capacity now stands at 88,535 MW.
 
NTPC continues to accelerate its transition toward renewable energy, with solar projects forming a key pillar of its long-term sustainability roadmap. The commissioning of the Rajasthan solar project reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its green energy footprint across India.
 
The announcement was formally submitted by NTPC’s Company Secretary & Compliance Officer as part of mandatory exchange filings under SEBI regulations, ensuring transparency and timely disclosure to investors.
