Independent power producer (IPP) Aukera has reached commercial operations at two solar PV plants in Shropshire and Essex.
Both the Ledwyche Solar, with a 12MW capacity, and the Crays Hall Solar, 25.6MW, are part of the IPPs UK construction programme, which is financed under a £135 million senior debt facility secured with European financing institutions Deutsche Bank and Rabobank.
The financing was secured last year and supports the construction of five solar PV and battery energy storage projects with a combined 250MW capacity. All five projects have already secured Contracts for Difference (CfDs) in the Allocation Round 6 in 2024.
Aukera Energy acquired the Crays Hall Solar project from developer Boom Power back in 2024.
Pascal Emsens and Catalin Breaban, co-founders of Aukera, said: “These projects reflect our focus on execution – progressing assets efficiently through financing, construction and into operation within a disciplined delivery framework. As additional projects move into operation, we continue to scale our operating portfolio in line with the UK’s long-term energy priorities.”

Moreover, as the company continues to increase its operational UK portfolio with the two solar PV plants, it has recently secured CfD in Allocation Round 7a and a 15-year Capacity Market agreement in the 2029/30 T-4 auction for a solar-plus-storage  project in Scotland. The Loch Fergus project in South Ayrshire comprises 45MW solar PV and 40MW battery energy storage system (BESS) and is expected to begin construction in the coming months.
Both the solar PV and BESS are forecast to begin commercial operations in 2027.
