19th Solar Power in India Conference I Industry Perspective: Forum of CXOs – Renewable Watch Magazine

Watch the full session on Industry Perspective: Forum of CXOs at our 19th Annual Conference on Solar Power in India.
Key takeaways from the session:
-Industry focus is shifting from standalone solar capacity addition to firm and despatchable renewable energy solutions. Developers are investing in battery storage, pumped storage, flow batteries, and green hydrogen and ammonia projects to address intermittency challenges and enable round-the-clock renewable power supply.
-Despite rapid expansion in domestic manufacturing capacity under policy initiatives such as ALMM and PLI, manufacturers expressed concerns regarding stagnant demand and delayed project execution. India now has surplus module manufacturing capacity, and project awards, PPAs and actual deployment are not progressing at the same pace, creating underutilisation risks for manufacturers.
-Rising renewable energy penetration is intensifying grid integration challenges. High solar concentration in a few states is straining transmission infrastructure, while tighter DSM norms are increasing operational pressures on developers.
