The executive in charge of Google’s data centres says Australia’s opportunity to be an artificial intelligence hub will not last forever, as the tech giant assesses plans to increase the allocation of its $265 billion annual spending to the country.
In a speech to The Australian Financial Review AI Summit in Sydney on Tuesday, Bikash Koley will echo OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman’s comments last week that Australia had a significant opportunity to attract huge investment if it had the right policies in place.
