The clarification applies to consumers choosing the Give It Up option under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Under this option, residential consumers voluntarily forgo Central Financial Assistance so the scheme benefits can reach more consumers. MNRE said that such consumers are exempt from ALMM List-II requirements for solar PV cells until 31st March 2027, provided they apply through the PM Surya Ghar National Portal only. The ministry clarified that separate applications on the NISE DCR Portal will not qualify for this limited exemption.
