Vesper Energy has commenced construction on the Nazareth Solar project, a 201-megawatt facility located on approximately 1,000 acres of private land in Swisher County, Texas, according to a June 24, 2026, news item from the company.
The project is anticipated to reach commercial operation by fall 2027 and is expected to produce enough electricity to supply more than 53,000 Texas homes each year. Nazareth Solar is projected to generate $34 million in tax revenue for Swisher County, which will support schools, roads, emergency services, and county operations. The development is also forecast to create over 200 construction jobs.
Vesper Energy co-CEO Juan Suarez stated that breaking ground on Nazareth Solar represents another milestone for the firm. He noted the company’s established track record in the area, a team capable of delivering at this scale, and capital partners who have invested in the company and in energy for Texas’s growing electricity demand. Suarez described Nazareth Solar as the next step in that commitment.
The project team plans to remain engaged with Swisher County throughout construction and operations, hiring from the local workforce. Vesper Energy previously completed the 600-megawatt Hornet Solar project in Swisher County in April 2025. As Nazareth Solar progresses toward its commercial operation date, it will join Vesper’s operating solar portfolio in Texas.
JaNell Wafer, director of the Tulia Chamber of Commerce, commented that Nazareth Solar represents a significant investment in the community and its future. She indicated that during construction, the project will create hundreds of jobs and generate economic activity benefiting local businesses throughout the region. Wafer also expressed gratitude for Hornet Solar’s commitment to giving back through community investments and partnerships that support local organizations, businesses, and the economy.
