Crystal International has partnered with Schneider Electric’s global consulting practice, SE Advisory Services, to accelerate renewable energy deployment and improve energy efficiency across its global manufacturing operations.
The collaboration supports Crystal International’s Net Zero 2050 ambition and Crystal Sustainability Vision 2030 through the expansion of rooftop solar photovoltaic installations and the optimisation of air-conditioning energy performance.
Working with SE Advisory Services, Crystal International has developed a data-driven solar roadmap to assess the rooftop solar potential across its manufacturing facilities. The assessment considered factors including available roof space, roof condition, structural integrity and the most suitable photovoltaic system configurations. The roadmap is designed to support the systematic expansion of renewable energy generation, building on the company’s existing 24.6 MW of installed rooftop solar capacity.
The partnership also focuses on improving air-conditioning efficiency as manufacturers respond to rising temperatures and increasing heat stress in production facilities. Crystal International is benchmarking the energy performance of air-conditioning systems to identify the most efficient cooling solutions for individual factory locations. The initiative is intended to improve workplace comfort while reducing energy consumption and associated carbon emissions through optimised system design and equipment selection.

“Joining hands with SE Advisory Services exemplifies our ongoing efforts in decarbonisation and our ambition to deliver sustainable, future-ready solutions,” said Catherine Chiu, Vice President, Corporate Quality & Sustainability at Crystal International. “With their expertise, we are confident in our ability to effectively balance worker well-being with climate mitigation in achieving resilience.”
Crystal International said collaboration with industry partners forms an important part of its climate strategy, enabling the company to accelerate decarbonisation efforts while supporting the transition to a lower-carbon fashion industry.
Founded in Hong Kong in 1970, Crystal International operates more than 20 manufacturing facilities across Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The company manufactures lifestyle wear, sportswear, outdoor apparel, denim, intimate apparel, sweaters and knitted fabrics for leading global brands.
