Effingham County residents packed a recent Wind and Solar Committee hearing about a commercial solar farm proposed at the corner of Mason Eberle Road and North 1275th Street by Mason Plains, LLC. The five-hour long meeting generated a plethora of information, questions and testimony.
Representatives for Nexamp, the company that owns Mason Plains, LLC, explained how they signed a lease agreement with the Warner family in 2022 because the land is close to an Ameren substation, there’s easy access to utility lines, and it’s clear and flat land.
