GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Office of the Governor of South Carolina announced that Fortified Solar is expanding its Greenville County operations.
Fortified Solar is a U.S. solar manufacturer of custom steel roofing systems with building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technology.
The company’s $22.75 million investment will create over 151 new jobs, according to the office of the governor.
According to the office of the governor, the company was created in 2020 by Travelers Rest-native Justin Draplin and has an existing manufacturing facility in Taylors.
The office of the governor said the company’s new operation is located at 10 A. D. Asbury Road in Greenville. This location will expand the company’s manufacturing, production and operational capabilities, supporting its ongoing growth.
The office of the governor said the company’s existing and new facilities are operational, with new manufacturing lines expected to reach full production by October 2026.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to the project. The council also awarded a $150,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the costs of building improvements.
