PowerBank, a Canada-based independent energy developer and asset owner, has executed a lease for the 3.2 MW DC Scofield project. The ground-mount facility is located in Broome County, New York, and is expected to serve community solar subscribers. PowerBank has started the interconnection application and will pursue permitting and construction financing after receiving approval. The project is expected to qualify for NYSERDA’s NY-Sun Program and retain federal Investment Tax Credit eligibility. Physical work began before July 4, 2026, and is expected to satisfy the IRS Physical Work Test. The facility has an estimated construction value of approximately $8 million and an expected ITC value of approximately $3.2 million. Once completed, Scofield is expected to supply electricity equivalent to approximately 400 homes and replace the previously announced Boyle Rd. project.
