A proposed solar farm project in Channahon was not voted on by the Village Board this week. Channahon Mayor Missey Moorman Schumacher. 
“Did have a proposed solar farm development, for a piece of property out on Bungalow Road southwest sort of LyondellBasell, and they came to our planning and zoning commission, a month or so ago, a couple months ago. There was a negative recommendation from the planning and zoning commission. It was proposed to be a forty acre solar farm, on a piece of property that fronts bungalow road, like I said, out southwest of town, and, the planning and zoning commission had some concerns about the developability of a piece of property and what it could be used for in future. And so, they negatively recommended it” 
She said the project will most likely go back to the Planning and Zoning Board. 
“Proposed developer then, you know, came back with some plans, shrunk it from forty acres to thirty acres with the option for the village to have the other ten acres, and there was some…proposed money for infrastructure improvements and things like that. And so that was on our board agenda last night. The board did not vote on that, because it did come with a negative recommendation from the planning and zoning commission in its original form, so we felt like it was important for it to go back to the planning and zoning commission to see if their initial concerns had been met with the new proposal. So, there was no vote on that last night. It did get remanded back to the planning and zoning, so in the next month or two.”
