MOUNTAIN IRON, Minn. (KQDS-TV) – Heliene USA, Inc has announced they are laying off approximately 93 employees from its facility in Mountain Iron.
In announcing the layoffs, Heliene said: “Due to unforeseen business circumstances, Heliene USA, Inc. made the difficult decision to reduce operations at its Mountain Iron plant.”
They recently opened a new facility in Rodger, Minnesota – about 25 miles northwest of Minneapolis.
The permanent layoffs are for the facility at 8787 Silicon Way, Mountain Iron, MN 55768.
Employees’ last day of work was August 5, 2026. But employees will continue to receive pay until their employment officially ends on October 4, 2026.
Heliene’s website says they are “challenging the solar industry status quo by putting customers first. It’s doing so as well by manufacturing high-quality, competitively priced solar systems made to order in North America. By supporting customers with its in-house logistics team and just-in-time supply chain solution. And by being remarkably responsive.”
Positions affected in this layoff/closure are, but are not limited to:
Float/Relief Operator, Framer Operator, HR Assistant, H&S Coordinator, Line Operator, Maintenance Technician, Material Handling Operator, Production Line Team Lead, Quality Engineer, Quality Inspector, Quality Operator, Quality Technician, Reliability Engineer, Repair Operator, Stringer Operator, Stringer Team Lead.
