A new solar shopping program in El Paso, Texas, looks to make rooftop panels less intimidating, and potentially less expensive, for homeowners.
By pooling interest and simplifying the quote process, the city says residents can explore energy bill savings without committing to an installation.
Homeowners can now look into solar through Switch Together, a program offered by the city in partnership with Solar United Neighbors. It is meant to help people compare options and pricing, according to KTSM 9 News.
Rather than having residents seek bids one at a time, Switch Together has qualified installers compete on price. Participants then get free personalized recommendations that spell out available choices and estimated costs.
