According to the English-language newspaper Global Times, based in China, the announcement came from an official of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) at an event in Hulun Buir in Inner Mongolia.
The official, Wang Shancheng, is quoted as saying NDRC will draw up management measures for recycling wind power and PV equipment. He also said China would crack down on illegal and non-compliant recycling and dismantling activities.
Global Times reported: ‘China will vigorously promote the upgrading of the circular economy industry by supporting the construction of national key laboratories in the field of resource recycling.’
China’s State Council has previously issued an action plan until 2030 for tackling carbon emissions, outlining key tasks and measures to achieve the goal.
