At Intersolar South America 2026, Brazilian PV mounting system manufacturer Solar Group unveiled Fibro+, a proprietary mounting solution for installing photovoltaic modules on fiber-cement roofs.
Developed in partnership with Brazilian inverter manufacturer WEG, the system can reduce installation time by up to 30% and labor costs by up to 25%, according to Solar Group. The company said the product combines structural strength and durability with a simplified installation process.
The new product targets fiber-cement rooftops, where mounting systems must accommodate the geometry and structural characteristics of the roofing material.
At Intersolar, Solar Group is demonstrating the system’s structural strength by inviting visitors to step and jump on a structure assembled with Fibro+. The demonstration is intended to showcase the mounting system’s stability under load.
Solar Group said Fibro+ is designed to withstand loads during installation and operation. The product comes with a 12-year warranty, according to materials provided by the company.
Fibro+ uses fewer components and installation steps than conventional mounting solutions for fiber-cement roofs, according to the manufacturer. The simplified design is intended to reduce installation time and associated labor costs, with potential productivity gains becoming more significant in projects involving large numbers of modules.
The new product is described as a short aluminum mini-rail designed to be installed on the crest of the corrugated roof sheet and fixed to the supporting structure underneath. Depending on the roof, the underlying structure can be made of wood, steel or concrete. The mini-rail is mechanically secured with screws, while EPDM tape and sealing elements protect the penetrations against water ingress. PV modules are then attached directly to the mini-rails using standard module clamps.
According to the manufacturer, this design eliminates the hanger bolts or studs and continuous aluminum rails typically used in conventional systems. The mini-rail therefore serves as both the roof attachment and the mounting interface for the modules, with loads being transferred from the modules through the rails and fasteners to the roof’s structural members.
Fibro+ expands Solar Group’s portfolio of mounting structures for rooftop, flat-roof and ground-mounted PV systems. The company supplies products for residential, commercial and industrial installations, as well as utility-scale solar projects.
