SAEL Industries Ltd, an integrated renewable energy player, has announced a significant milestone in its manufacturing division. Its subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6, has successfully secured supply orders for 1 GWp of solar PV modules over the last six months. This achievement underscores the company’s rapid expansion in the domestic and international solar supply chain, positioning it as a key contributor to India’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
The order book is anchored by a major 585.8 MWp supply requirement for NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd’s solar PV project in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. The remaining capacity is allocated to utility-scale solar projects across Gujarat and other regions of Uttar Pradesh. SAEL has confirmed that these orders will be fulfilled using high-efficiency n-type TOPCon modules. Crucially, all modules are enlisted under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), ensuring compliance for government-assisted projects.
As of September 30, 2025, SAEL maintains a robust portfolio of 8,299 MWp (DC) of contracted and awarded solar and storage capacity. The company currently operates 3,625 MW of TOPCon module manufacturing capacity and 164.90 MW of agri-waste-to-energy capacity. Furthermore, SAEL is currently constructing an integrated facility in Greater Noida (Jewar), Uttar Pradesh, which will house 5 GW of solar cell manufacturing and 5 GW of solar module manufacturing lines.
For EPC contractors and solar developers, the availability of ALMM-compliant, high-efficiency n-type TOPCon modules from a domestic manufacturer like SAEL provides a reliable supply chain alternative. As developers face pressure to meet strict commissioning timelines for utility-scale projects, the ability to source locally manufactured, high-performance modules is a critical factor in mitigating import-related risks and ensuring project bankability.
The industry will closely monitor the commissioning of SAEL’s upcoming 5 GW integrated facility in Greater Noida. As India continues to scale its renewable energy sector, the shift toward domestic manufacturing of advanced cell technologies like TOPCon is essential for reducing reliance on imports.
