Renewable energy independent power producer Renalfa IPP and Eurowind Energy inaugurated the Tenevo hybrid renewable energy complex in South-Eastern Bulgaria on September 30, 2026. The platform combines a 242 MWp solar PV plant with two co-located battery energy storage systems totalling 311 MW/773 MWh. Renalfa IPP develops and operates renewable energy and energy storage assets, while Eurowind Energy develops, constructs and operates renewable energy projects. The solar plant is expected to generate approximately 332 GWh of electricity annually, with Solarpro Holding serving as EPC contractor and project manager. EBRD and Raiffeisen Bank International are financing the complex, including EUR 50 million and EUR 53 million, respectively, for the PV portion. The PV plant and first BESS phase have been operational since 2025, while EUR 60 million financing for the second BESS phase is expected to be signed shortly. Investment across all phases is expected to exceed EUR 500 million, with more than 250 MW of wind capacity planned for the platform.
