The Grundy County Land Use Committee recently approved a special use petition allowing for a new solar farm to be constructed. Grundy County Development Director Alec Macdonald said the solar farm would be located near Whitetie Road. 
He said the project received two letters of support. 
Macdonald also reported to the committee that this land has previously flooded. 
Committee members Eric Rasmussen, Josh Harris, Harold Vota and James Riley voted yes while Laura Schiavone and Jeff Wynn were not in support. The Grundy County Board will have the final say on the special use at their meeting on October 13^th.
