Premier Energies Secures Rs 4,001 Crore Solar Orders In Q2 FY27 – TradingView

The solar manufacturer received orders for 2,308 MW of solar cell and module supplies, alongside engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects, as it expands domestic manufacturing capacity.
Premier Energies has secured fresh orders worth Rs 4,001 crore in the July-September quarter of FY27, strengthening its order pipeline as India’s solar manufacturing sector expands to meet rising demand for domestic clean-energy equipment. The orders cover 2,308 megawatts (MW) of solar cell and module supplies, along with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project execution. The company said the order inflow includes contracts from power producers, module manufacturers, EPC companies and other customers, excluding orders from the retail market segment.
The latest wins come as the company increases production capacity and invests in newer solar technologies to serve utility-scale projects and other market segments. The expansion also reflects the broader shift towards domestic solar manufacturing as India seeks to reduce dependence on imported equipment and strengthen its renewable energy supply chain.
Manufacturing Capacity Expands
Premier Energies’ total solar module manufacturing capacity has nearly doubled to 11.1 gigawatts (GW), while its solar cell manufacturing capacity has increased from 3.6 GW to 10.6 GW. The increase in cell capacity follows the commissioning of a 7 GW tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cell manufacturing facility at Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh in September 2026. TOPCon is a high-efficiency solar cell technology designed to improve energy conversion performance.
The company is also pursuing backward integration to strengthen its position across the solar manufacturing value chain. Its expansion plans include a proposed 10 GW ingot-wafer manufacturing plant and 12 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery container manufacturing capacity, broadening its presence beyond cells and modules. Such investments are becoming increasingly important as manufacturers seek to secure supplies of key components, improve operational efficiency and manage exposure to international supply-chain disruptions.
Domestic Solar Demand Drives Investment
India’s renewable energy expansion is creating opportunities for domestic equipment manufacturers, supported by government efforts to scale clean-energy capacity and strengthen local production. The country has set a target of 500 GW of installed non-fossil fuel electricity capacity by 2030. However, capacity expansion also brings commercial risks. Solar manufacturers must balance new production lines against demand, pricing pressure, technology upgrades and the timely execution of customer orders.
Industry analysts generally assess order inflows alongside manufacturing utilisation, margins, customer concentration and delivery schedules. A large order pipeline can improve revenue visibility, but its contribution to profitability depends on execution costs, contract terms and market conditions. For Premier Energies, the latest order inflow indicates continued demand for its solar products and EPC capabilities. The company’s ability to convert these orders into deliveries while maintaining margins will remain important as India’s solar manufacturing capacity grows.
