Work has been completed on the 74.9 MW Bailey Mill Solar Center, which Duke Energy Florida, a United States-based electric utility, has built near Monticello in Jefferson County. Its 163,000 panels can produce enough electricity at peak output to power about 15,000 homes in Florida, US. Duke Energy Florida expects that output to save its customers $250 million in fuel costs over the life of the site. The saving will reach them directly, as the price that the utility pays for fuel is passed through to their bills. Bailey Mill is one of five solar sites that the utility has completed since 2025, and 11 more are planned before the end of 2028.
