Standard Solar has purchased two Washington solar developments from OneEnergy Renewables, the two firms’ inaugural collaboration within the state.
The installations, Palouse Junction in Connell and Cunningham in Othello, will contribute a total of 15.79 MW in new ground-mounted solar capacity across eastern Washington.
These purchases underscore Standard Solar‘s ongoing expansion within distributed generation and community-scale solar sectors, while underscoring the significant part rural utilities play in the shift toward clean energy. Franklin Public Utility District and Big Bend Electric Cooperative, the power purchasers for these installations, illustrate how municipal utilities are adopting renewables to reinforce their electricity supply, aid long-range energy planning and provide locally produced clean power to their ratepayers.
Eric Partyka, Director of Business Development at Standard Solar, described rural utilities as vital collaborators in broadening clean energy access. He noted that these installations exemplify how municipal utilities can channel renewable energy advantages straight to the populations they serve, adding that Standard Solar takes pride in extending its footprint in Washington and in collaborating with OneEnergy Renewables on efforts that foster sensible, community-oriented clean energy expansion.
Situated in Connell, Washington, the 12.1-MW Palouse Junction installation is projected to generate roughly 22,339 MWh of electricity during its inaugural year. Franklin Public Utility District will act as the power purchaser. Completion is anticipated in the first quarter of 2027.
The 3.69 MW Cunningham installation, based in Othello, Washington, is projected to generate roughly 6,917 MWh of electricity during its inaugural year. Big Bend Electric Cooperative will act as the power purchaser. Completion is likewise anticipated in the first quarter of 2027.
OneEnergy Renewables serves as the developer and the engineering, procurement and construction supplier for both installations.
Erin Lynch, Senior Manager of Development at OneEnergy Renewables, expressed enthusiasm about joining forces with Standard Solar on these Washington efforts and about helping supply dependable, locally produced renewable energy to rural utility ratepayers. Lynch remarked that Palouse Junction and Cunningham demonstrate the worth of considerate solar development that matches municipal utility requirements and bolsters Washington’s wider clean energy trajectory.
