Actis announced the launch of Yeltica Energy on September 17, 2026, as a greenfield renewable energy platform in Mexico with a target of more than 2 GW of generation capacity. The platform is anchored by three solar-plus-storage projects awarded under Mexico’s first Mixed Investment Tender, conducted by the state-owned utility Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). Together, the projects account for approximately 330 MWp of solar PV and 255 MWh of battery storage. José Luis García, formerly CEO of Actis-backed Zuma Energía, will lead the new company. Mexico is targeting a 38% renewable electricity share by 2030, up from around 20% at the time of the announcement, with 22 GW of new renewable capacity planned as part of that goal.
