NTPC REL Seeks Bids For 1.5 GW Solar, 2.1 GW Modules – TaiyangNews

NTPC REL has invited bids for 900 MW near Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh and up to 600 MW near Dhule in Maharashtra
Both projects require bifacial modules and cells listed under ALMM List-I and List-II, respectively
A separate tender covers bifacial solar module supply for projects at Fatehgarh and Bikaner in Rajasthan
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued separate calls for the deployment of a combined 1.5 GW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected ground-mounted solar PV capacity and the supply of solar modules for a 2.1 GW solar PV project.
NTPC REL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited’s green energy arm, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), is seeking an EPC package with land for the development of 1.5 GW solar PV capacity across two separate tenders.
One of the tenders includes 900 MW (NIT no. NRE-CS-5849-004(EPC)-9) to be installed near the Kurnool Solar Project in Andhra Pradesh, to be installed as a single block. Bids can be submitted till November 16, 2026. It will be installed in a single block.
The other tender relates to an EPC package for the development of up to 600 MW PV capacity (NIT no. NRE-CS-5848-004(EPC)-9) near Dhule Solar Project in Maharashtra, to be deployed in two blocks of 300 MW each. The last date to submit bids for this tender is November 13, 2026.
The bifacial solar modules to be used in both projects must be listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I, and the cells in List-II.
NTPC REL will also require the winners to facilitate the transfer of land required for a battery energy storage system (BESS) to NTPC REL, along with commissioning the project and its O&M for three years post-commissioning.
The call for the supply of solar PV modules for a 2.1 GW solar (NIT no. NRE-CS-5800-004(MOD-01)-9) is for projects in Fatehgarh and Bikaner in Rajasthan. The tender is divided into two clusters. Cluster A requires modules compliant with both the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) ALMM List-I for modules and List-II for solar cells.
Cluster B requires compliance with ALMM List-I for modules only. Only Class-I local suppliers, as defined under the government’s Make in India procurement policy, are eligible to participate. The broad scope of work requires on-site delivery of crystalline solar PV bifacial modules.
The last date for techno-commercial bid submission is November 5, 2026.
Earlier this year, NTPC REL launched EPC tenders for a combined 1.1 GW solar PV capacity across Rajasthan (see NTPC REL Floats EPC Tenders For 1.1 GW Of Solar Projects).
