Dentons has advised mBank and Bank Millennium, acting as lenders, on financing for the development and construction of a 135 MW solar photovoltaic project in Żabice, southern Poland. The project is sponsored by Virya Energy, a Belgian pioneer in sustainable energy solutions.
The project, which is among the largest of its kind currently under construction in the country, is expected to become operational in the second half of 2027.
Dentons advised the lenders on all legal aspects of the financing, including the preparation and negotiation of the finance documents, as well as regulatory and project-specific matters.
The team advising on the financing was led by Tomasz Zwoliński, partner in the Banking & Finance practice, and included senior associate Magdalena Gajewska as well as associates Krzysztof Chlebowski and Julia Frankiewicz.
The project-related aspects of the transaction, including legal due diligence, were led by managing counsel Maciej Ziółkowski, with support from senior associate Mateusz Muchel and associates Zofia Szewczuk and Bartłomiej Książek, under the supervision of Piotr Ciołkowski, partner and Co-Head of the Energy and Natural Resources practice.
The mBank team included Gracjan Biskup, Daniel Uścimiak and Eugeniusz Dąbrowski.
Bank Millennium was represented by Agnieszka Byszkiewicz, Karolina Kosik-Popławska, Piotr Łagutko and Renata Grzywacz.
