Community solar management service Neighborhood Sun has acquired Meadow Energy, a community solar aggregator with a substantial project portfolio in New York. The acquisition doubles Neighborhood Sun total project portfolio from approximately 300 MWDC to more than 600 MWDC, and quadruples its presence in New York state.
Climate First Bank helped facilitate the transaction.
“Climate First Bank believes we can help save the planet by expanding access to affordable, renewable energy,” said Hana Freymiller, senior VP and director of energy project finance at Climate First Bank. “Neighborhood Sun’s laser focus on increasing access to solar savings in low- and moderate-income communities is literally converting our beliefs into practice. Together, we have the opportunity to accelerate progress toward fighting climate change and creating true American energy independence.”
This portfolio covered 67 of Meadow Energy community solar projects. The more than 30,000 subscribers to these projects will be transferred to Neighborhood Sun’s management platform.
The company manages projects across Maryland and nine other markets, including New York.
