Jakson Solar plans Rs 5,000 crore cell, wafer investment – Power Peak Digest

Jakson Solar plans to invest up to Rs 5,000 crore to set up 3 GW each of solar cell and ingot-wafer manufacturing capacity, according to Managing Director Ivan Saha. He spoke on the sidelines of the Renewable Energy India Expo.
Saha said the company aims to commission the 3 GW solar cell capacity by December 2027. The 3 GW ingot and wafer capacity is planned to be ready by the third quarter (Q3) of fiscal year 2028. The new facilities will primarily cater to the merchant market, he added.
Jakson Solar already operates a 1.2 GW solar module-making plant. The planned cell and ingot-wafer lines would extend its manufacturing presence further up the solar value chain. Equipment procurement tie-ups for the manufacturing capacity have already been secured.
