U.S.-based solar technology and manufacturing company Inox Solar Americas LLC is progressing with the construction of its 3 GW annual-capacity solar cell manufacturing facility in North Carolina.
According to a press release, the company has advanced the project to the equipment installation phase and reaffirmed that the facility remains on schedule to begin production in the second quarter of 2027. As part of its efforts to establish a more vertically integrated U.S. solar manufacturing platform, Inox Solar Americas is developing the 515,460-square-foot facility.
Once operational, the facility’s domestic advanced solar cell production will complement the company’s existing U.S. solar module manufacturing capabilities. The investment aims to provide customers with greater access to U.S.-manufactured solar technology while supporting a more transparent, resilient and reliable domestic supply chain.
Founded in 2026 in the United States, Inox Solar Americas specialises in advanced monocrystalline photovoltaic (PV) cells and high-performance Gamma Series™ monofacial and Vega Series™ bifacial PV modules.
Its photovoltaic solutions are designed for residential, commercial, industrial, community solar and utility-scale applications, with a focus on efficiency, reliability and long-term value.
Inox Solar Americas acquired Boviet Solar’s U.S. PV manufacturing assets in Greenville, North Carolina. These include 3 GW of annual PV module manufacturing capacity and a planned 3 GW of annual PV cell manufacturing capacity, which is expected to become operational in 2027.
Through localised manufacturing, resilient supply chains, operational excellence and efficient logistics, the company aims to strengthen the U.S. solar supply chain and address growing domestic demand.
Inox Solar Americas is part of the broader renewable energy platform of Inox Clean Energy and the India-headquartered INOXGFL Group. Backed by the group’s financial strength, business stability, manufacturing capabilities, technological innovation and industry expertise, the company aims to deliver high-quality, reliable and sustainable solar solutions across the U.S. solar energy market.
The addition of domestic PV cell manufacturing capabilities is expected to further support customers in addressing evolving U.S. domestic-content requirements, Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) and Prohibited Foreign Entity (PFE) considerations, applicable trade requirements and federal energy-policy provisions.
The company’s approach emphasises qualified sourcing, documented manufacturing processes and compliance readiness to help customers navigate increasingly complex procurement and project requirements.
The Greenville manufacturing platform will integrate advanced Galaxion™ monocrystalline PV cell technologies with Inox Solar Americas’ U.S.-manufactured Gamma Series™ monofacial and Vega Series™ bifacial PV modules.
Advanced automation, precision cell processing, integrated inspection and testing, process controls, documented quality procedures and production traceability are intended to provide greater manufacturing control, from PV cell production through finished-module assembly.
This integrated approach is designed to support consistent product quality, high efficiency and energy yield, durability, and dependable performance across demanding U.S. solar applications.
Integrating U.S. PV cell and module manufacturing will provide greater visibility and control across critical stages of the solar supply chain. Inox Solar Americas is strengthening supplier qualification, component-origin documentation, material traceability, production records and supply-chain due diligence.
Through these efforts, the company aims to support customers seeking greater transparency into where and how their products are manufactured.
It also intends to increase domestic production to reduce dependence on imported solar cells, mitigate exposure to global supply disruptions and trade-related risks, and ensure more reliable product availability for U.S. project pipelines.
Inox Solar Americas is building its manufacturing capabilities to support large-scale, multiyear customer requirements. Its strategy focuses on expanding manufacturing scale, ensuring supply continuity, strengthening domestic-content capabilities, improving traceability and compliance readiness, and providing product support.
Together with product performance, quality systems, warranty support and its commitment to the U.S. market, these capabilities are intended to strengthen the confidence of customers, developers, investors and lenders in Inox Solar Americas and the projects supported by its products.
“Our continued progress on U.S. PV cell manufacturing represents an important step in building a more integrated and resilient domestic solar supply chain,” said Ashok Nair, President & CEO of Inox Solar Americas.
“By bringing advanced cell technology, high-performance module manufacturing, and rigorous quality control together within our U.S. manufacturing platform, we are strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable supply and the bankability required for their project pipelines.”
