Germany’s Federal Network Agency has awarded 288 MW of photovoltaic capacity across 143 projects in its latest auction for PV systems on buildings and noise barriers.
The agency received 177 bids totaling 347 MW, and it excluded 34 bids amounting to 58 MW from the award process without disclosing specific reasons. According to the authority’s website, unsuccessful bidders will be informed directly about the reasons their bids were rejected.
The submitted capacity increased significantly compared with the previous round in July, when bids totaled just 296 MW.
Awarded prices ranged from EUR0.10 per kWh to EUR0.085 per kWh, with a volume-weighted average of EUR0.0967 per kWh, just under the maximum permitted level of EUR0.10 per kWh.
North Rhine-Westphalia secured the largest share of contracts for the new rooftop PV systems, with 38 projects totaling 66 MW. Hessen followed with 11 bids combining 30 MW, Brandenburg with 14 bids equaling 28 MW, and Lower Saxony with 16 bids aggregating 27 MW.
