Qair has started construction of the Castellammare solar project, a 24.2 MWp photovoltaic plant located in Sicily, Italy.
Renewable energy company, Qair, has started the construction of the Castellammare solar project, a 24.2 MWp photovoltaic plant located in Sicily, Italy. This initiative marks a new milestone in Qair’s development in one of its key European markets.
The project follows the signing of the EPC contract with SIREOS and a financing agreement with Crédit Agricole. With the commercial operation date expected in July 2027, Castellammare represents a tangible advancement in Italy’s renewable energy capacity.
Qair’s portfolio in Italy includes 1.5 GW of wind, solar, and renewable hydrogen projects, alongside an advanced pipeline of 2.3 GWh of battery energy storage system projects to address grid congestion challenges.
The Castellammare project exemplifies Qair’s ability to transform Italy’s renewable potential into tangible production capacity, reinforcing the country’s energy sovereignty. This agreement marks a further step in Qair’s strategy to focus on Europe and its core markets, delivering concrete results in line with its roadmap.
Charles Lhermitte, Chief Operating Officer, Qair Group, responded: “Launching Castellammare is an important milestone in the execution of our strategy in Europe. Italy is one of our key markets, and this project demonstrates our ability to deliver on our commitments.”
