St. Cloud fire crews were called to a solar panel farm at a wastewater treatment plant Friday morning after a transformer caught fire.
Fire crews worked for several hours to put out the fire at the Saint Cloud Nutrient, Energy, and Water (NEW) Recovery Facility, starting around 9 a.m., and continuing to extinguish smoke and hot spots until at least 11:45 a.m. CHOPPER 5 flew over the scene and saw crews among hundreds of solar panels working to fully extinguish the transformer fire.
No one was injured, the fire department said.
The Office of the St. Cloud Fire Marshal is investigating.
