The Government of the Province of Buenos Aires is promoting the construction of five new solar parks in various Buenos Aires municipalities.
The works aim to resolve structural restrictions of the electric service with clean energy.
Thus, the new establishments will be added to the 26 parks already operating in the provincial territory.
Together with the renewable generation system of Isla Martín García, they will reach a total of 11.5 MW of installed power.
The solar parks will be installed in five locations in Buenos Aires: Pehuen Có (Coronel Rosales), San Cayetano, 16 de Julio (Azul), Pipinas (Punta Indio), and Alberti.
Two of these establishments will incorporate innovative technology for the Buenos Aires territory.
The parks of Pehuen Có and San Cayetano will feature a lithium battery storage system. This technology will allow energy to be charged and meet demands outside solar radiation hours.
The works include various components and services:
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services of Buenos Aires is carrying out the works through the Provincial Program of Incentives for Renewable Distributed Generation (PROINGED).
The Undersecretariat of Energy coordinates the program together with the Regional Electric Forum of Buenos Aires (FREBA).
This latter brings together all the electric energy distributors of the province and its municipalities.
According to the Government of Buenos Aires, “with the promotion of renewable distributed generation as a tool, the aim is to improve the quality of life of the citizens and promote balanced territorial development throughout the Province.”
The new solar parks will provide a solution to structural problems of local electric service restrictions with clean energy.
In this way, the estimated generation will reach 4,000 kWh per year in Buenos Aires.
This production is equivalent to the supply of 1,300 Buenos Aires households with renewable energy.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services promotes works of accessible and sustainable energy.
In particular, the goal is to expand and improve the infrastructure for transport and distribution of electric energy.
It also seeks to expand access to the natural gas network and the development of renewable energies.
The goal is for energy to become a central vector for the development of the Province of Buenos Aires.
