New Delhi, January 15, 2026: The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has achieved a major milestone, crossing 25 GW of commissioned solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity under various government schemes. These include the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Scheme, projects awarded under Standard Bidding Guidelines (SBG), solar manufacturing-linked projects, the CPSU Scheme, and other categories.
 
The commissioned projects were executed through tariff-based competitive bidding and long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), contributing significantly to the expansion of grid-connected solar capacity across India. SECI’s projects span multiple states and union territories, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

With this achievement, SECI continues to accelerate India’s transition to renewable energy, enhancing energy security and supporting the government’s goals of carbon emission reduction and sustainable energy development.
